Waves Curl Defining Cream

A packaging and brand identity project

Role: Designer, Copywriter, Illustrator

Responsibilities: Ideation, Research, Copy, Brand Identity, Packaging

Result: Three variations of Waves hair products

Tools: Adobe Dimension, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, Hand Sketching

This project had its obstacles and challenges, however, I knew I wanted to create a product that was sustainable and did its part to reduce their carbon footprint. Not only did I want the product to be eco-friendly, but I wanted its main audience to be focused on people of color, specifically people with curly hair. Having my own struggles finding curl products that work well for my hair, the idea to create Waves was born.

Narrative

Your hair is constantly going through waves. Waking up wavy, curly, curly and wavy, and let’s face it, frizzy and dry, or even flat. Having a multi-ethnic background comes with a head full of insane textures and qualities. We understand the search for the perfect product is difficult and even frustrating because everything on the shelf seems to be intended for all hair types except for people who are bi-racial. Some products are too thick, others can’t hold a curl. With Waves, you can define and tame these gorgeous locks of yours! With all natural ingredients we formulated a product that can give your curls that extra boost and luscious mermaid hair you’ve been dreaming of. This defining cream eliminates frizz, strengthens and moisturizes your hair, all while giving your curls the hold and structure it needs without stiffness. We want your hair to function at its full potential, so you can function at your full potential. Fall even more madly in love with the curls you were born to rock with a little help from Waves!
